A mother goddess, associated with love, fertility, sexuality, music, dance
and alcohol.
Sometimes Hathor was seen as a sky goddess, a vast cow who stradled the heavens
with her four legs marking the four cardinal points.

Hathor may be a remnant of the original cattle culture of the pre-historic
egyptians.
The King was often depicted as being suckled by the Hathor in
cow form. This relief on the walls of Deir el Bahri shows Hathor suckling Hatshepsut.

Hathor is sometimes shown as the sky goddess in her own form, rather
than as a cow.
